Edmonton weather: Windy day in Edmonton, air quality advisory issued for High Level

A look at today’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.

Tuesday morning temperatures at the Edmonton Blatchford station measured 5.2 C with 3 km/h winds out of the north, northeast.

Air quality advisory

Environment Canada issued an air quality advisory at 4:21 a.m. for High Level, Rainbow Lake, Fort Vermillion and Mackenzie Highway.

“Smoke from wildfires in northern Alberta is causing poor air quality and reducing visibility,” reads the statement. “Winds are expected to gradually shift from southeasterly to easterly on today forcing the smoke westward towards Rainbow Lake and northern BC. Tonight winds will become northeasterly confining smoke near and south of High Level.”
